The ongoing drought which is being felt across regional NSW has impacted the Tamworth region in a number of ways. All town water supplies in the Tamworth Local Government Area are now on some level of water restrictions and properties that rely on rain and ground water require water to be delivered regularly by water caters.

Noticing the increasing level of devastation the ongoing drought was causing locals, Natalie and Daniel Urquhart from GJ Gardner Homes Tamworth considered how they could help residents in the Tamworth region who have been significantly impacted by the drought. And so was born “The House that Drought Built”, a project at home in Lampada, involving a group of partners, with big hearts, giving their time and products to assist drought victims.

This project is designed to showcase both the quality and generosity of Tamworth’s leading building suppliers and tradies as they commit to build a quality home at a minimum cost. The proceeds, hoped to be in excess of $250,000, will be distributed directly to those in the Tamworth region’s most drought affected areas by The Salvation Army.

To date a strong team of partners including GJ Gardner Homes Tamworth, Lampada a McCloy Community, Tamworth Regional Council and PRD has been formed to help achieve this ambitious goal. Watch this space for exciting updates & for more information on how you can be involved!
